The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $85,000 - $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.



Job Description


The Avionics Systems Engineer will perform first and second-level maintenance on aircraft instruments, avionics, and electrical systems, including servicing, inspection, removal, cleaning, repair, installation, adjustment, testing, and certification of these systems and components.


Ramp duties will include pre/post-flight inspections, elementary tasks, marshalling, parking, towing, fuelling/defuelling, and installing/removing mission equipment and responding to crash and salvage situations.


The successful candidate will also review and respond to built-in-test (BITE) results, resolve defects/unserviceability on avionics systems, and perform related systems support such as disturbed systems checks and avionics functional checks.


Travel and work with mobile repair parties are required, as well as attending training sessions for trade development and qualification purposes.



Required Skills and Qualifications


A graduate degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required, along with a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license or equivalent commercial experience.


A minimum of 3 years' experience in helicopter maintenance is necessary, as well as thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, including power plants, flight controls, dynamic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental systems, and basic structures.


The ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret technical documentation, perform non-destructive inspection, and use standard computer programs.


A valid NS Class 5 Driver's License is required, and the ability to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Secret Level II Security Clearance is essential.
