Job Overview

Colas Western Canada Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in the maintenance of heavy equipment, including on- and off-road vehicles, construction tools, and concrete plants.

We offer a competitive compensation package with a comprehensive benefit plan and a registered pension plan. The salary for this position will be $60,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely perform equipment repairs and preventive maintenance in a timely manner
  • Assist in completing all maintenance inspections
  • Complete work orders and proper documentation of repairs and maintenance
  • Assess, record, and report any equipment deficiencies
  • Support mobile work crews and business functions in a variety of tasks

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic
  • Strong technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude to perform service on various equipment ranging from heavy-duty equipment to small engines and tools
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Strong knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, and hydrostatic systems
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Team player with a common goal-oriented mindset
