About Yukon Communicable Disease Control

As an Infectious Disease Nurse, you will provide primary health care services through an expanded nursing role.

Your Role

  • Provide physical and risk assessments relating to infectious disease, including testing and counseling, interpretation of test results, diagnosis, treatment, case management, immunization, outbreak, pandemic response, and referrals.
  • Manage disease investigations, contact tracing, and follow-up activities for Yukon's Reportable Disease List, including COVID-19, sexually transmitted infections, reportable blood-borne diseases, vaccine-preventable disease, enteric, and zoonotic diseases, as well as outbreak management.
  • Guide and support other healthcare providers in Yukon in the management of reportable communicable diseases.
  • Foster an environment where communities, families, and individuals can achieve and maintain optimal health through the provision of accurate and timely health information, health education/promotion, disease prevention, and treatment services.

Salary and Benefits

Our competitive salary is approximately $73,000 per year. We offer a signing bonus of $10,000 for Registered Nurses, reimbursement of exam fees for new nursing graduates, and yearly reimbursement for licensing fees.
