Clinical Dietitian

This is a permanent full-time position in the thriving city of Whitehorse, Yukon. The successful candidate will provide professional and clinical dietitian care and services to residents in our long-term care home.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nutrition care plan development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation with residents within an interdisciplinary team.
- Develop, implement, and review therapeutic menus and recipes.
- Assess psycho-social and cultural factors affecting nutritional intake by consulting with residents, significant others, physicians, and the care team.
- Develop, implement, and review policies and procedures for food safety, food & nutrition staff safety, and accident prevention.
- Bachelor of Science degree in food and nutrition, dietetics, or related field from a recognized educational institution with internship completed.
- Must have the ability to be Registered Dietitian in Canada through a governing body.
- Experience working in long-term care will be considered an asset.
- Experience planning, implementing, and evaluating quality improvement programs and initiatives will be considered an asset.
This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to allergens, infectious diseases, and second-hand smoke. Travel by car between care homes 3-4 times per week within Whitehorse is also required.
