About the Role

PALS Autism Society – School Program is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Classroom Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our school program, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and support to students with autism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of students with autism.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in a classroom setting, promoting academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure a seamless transition between home and school.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in autism education and support.
Requirements
  • BC Teaching Certification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students with autism or other exceptionalities.
  • Strong knowledge of autism education principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
