About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our team. As a Legal Secretary, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our lawyers and other staff members, including opening and maintaining legal files, drafting documents, and coordinating meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Open, organize, and maintain legal files
  • Draft various documents, including memos, letters, and court documents
  • Compose correspondence and record information for lawyers using our Legal Tracking system
  • Review incoming mail and files and respond to inquiries
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings
  • Prepare, distribute, and record invoices and recoveries
  • Ability to multi-task, manage a high volume of tasks, and take on other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma supplemented by secretarial/business courses
  • Several years of related experience in a legal practice (or comparable) environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team skills
  • Demonstrated time management, priority setting, organizational, and customer service skills
