We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Creature Modeler to lead our team of artists in creating high-quality 3D models for film and television productions. The successful candidate will have a strong background in creature modeling, animation, and visual effects, with a proven track record of delivering complex and detailed models on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and build 3D models of creatures, environments, and props, with a focus on proportion, form, detail, and functionality.
- Collaborate with model, texture, and look development supervisors to determine the visual style and aesthetic of the models.
- Lead and mentor a team of artists, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality results.
- Participate in turnover meetings, asset breakdowns, and briefings to ensure smooth project execution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and attend relevant meetings to promote effective communication throughout the production team.
- 7+ years of experience in creature modeling, animation, and visual effects, with a strong background in Maya and ZBrush.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of delivering complex and detailed models on time and within budget.
- Expert knowledge of facial blend shapes, anatomy, and structure.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and find solutions to complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
ILM offers a competitive salary range of C$122,400 to C$156,800 per year, based on a 40-hour work week. The actual salary offered will take into account internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A full range of medical, financial, and other benefits may be offered, dependent on the level and position offered.
