Job Title: Inventory Service Person

Job Purpose:

This role is responsible for planning and coordinating activities related to installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain inventory cells and parts
  • Build batteries
  • Install cables on new batteries, including accessories
  • Perform outside services, including traveling to customer sites to evaluate, diagnose, and repair customer equipment
  • Assist with the installation and/or removal of motive power batteries
  • Remove and disassemble cells and inspect parts to detect defects
  • Replace defective parts, reassemble batteries, and fuse lead parts with a gas torch
  • Add acid or water to obtain specified concentration
  • Diagnose and repair batteries, read meters, and adjust charge parameters to control time and flow of current through batteries
  • Install, provide preventive maintenance, and repair batteries
  • Operate material handling equipment per OSHA requirements
  • Perform inspections and analyze findings to determine the source of problems and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective action
  • Maintain records of performance reports
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean working environment
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, or industry-related experience and/or training in installation, maintenance, and repair
  • One to two years of industry-related experience, or equivalent combination of technical education and industry experience
  • A basic mechanical aptitude
  • Previous experience working with hand and power tools
  • Forklift license certificate
  • Ability to read and write English fluently
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A basic electrical understanding
  • The use of test equipment and reading schematics
  • Electrical experience in troubleshooting or repairs, such as auto, boat, or truck
