Job Title: Inventory Service Person

Job Purpose:

The Inventory Service Person will be responsible for planning and coordinating activities related to installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain inventory cells and parts, ensuring that they are properly stored and organized.
  • Build batteries, including installing cables and accessories.
  • Travel to customer sites to evaluate, diagnose, and repair customer equipment, including washing, cleaning, and neutralizing batteries.
  • Assist with the installation and/or removal of motive power batteries.
  • Remove and disassemble cells, inspecting parts to detect defects.
  • Replace defective parts, reassemble batteries, and fuse lead parts with a gas torch.
  • Add acid or water to obtain the specified concentration.
  • Diagnose and repair batteries, read meters, and adjust charge parameters to control time and flow of current through the battery.
  • Install, provide preventive maintenance, and repair batteries.
  • Operate material handling equipment per OSHA requirements.
  • Perform inspections and analyze findings to determine the source of the problem and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
  • Maintain records of performance reports.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean working environment, including cleaning the warehouse in the service area at the end of the day.
  • Assist the Shipper/Receiver.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, or industry-related experience and/or training in Installation, Maintenance, and Repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Manufacturing and/or Production.
  • One to two years' industry-related experience, or equivalent combination of technical education and industry experience.
  • A basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous experience working with hand and power tools.
  • Forklift license certificate.
  • Ability to read and write English fluently.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A basic electrical understanding.
  • The use of test equipment and reading schematics.
  • Electrical experience in troubleshooting or repairs, i.e. auto, boat, truck.
