Job Summary

The Project Director plays a critical role in consolidating and growing our business supporting operations, taking projects from inception to delivery, driving efficiencies, and directing business optimization to improve overall organization performance and supporting the estimating team during the proposal stage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Strategy and Oversight
    • Develop and oversee major construction projects, providing guidance and support to project and construction management teams.
    • Set project strategy and success metrics, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Project Management
    • Manage all aspects of a construction project, including problem-solving, team management, and resource allocation.
    • Ensure project completion within budget and schedule milestones.
  • Client Relations and Business Development
    • Serve as the principal liaison to clients' senior management, maintaining regular and appropriate relations with their representatives.
    • Support company business development initiatives, vision, and strategy.
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Provide clear and concise reporting of project status and areas of risk to executives, senior management, and clients.
    • Support estimating team in preparing and submitting company qualifications and proposals to clients.
    • Identify new clients and projects to pursue, aligning with company programs or standalone opportunities.
  • Operational Planning and Execution
    • Interact with company corporate discipline leads and project construction leads to ensure required resources are available on time.
    • Identify project objectives and requirements, stakeholders, and other third-party engagements to comply with executed contracts and expectations.
  • Leadership and Guidance
    • Provide overall leadership and guidance to project managers, implementing strategic and operational plans.
    • Oversee the preparation of milestone project deliverables, ensuring alignment with company internal processes and contract requirements.
  • Financial Oversight and Monitoring
    • Present and report on project progress and performance, providing overall financial oversight and monitoring of construction progress and budget.
  • Culture and Team Development
    • Create and drive an inclusive and positive culture, enabling career progression and team engagement.
    • Build an engaged and resilient team of professionals, communicating long-term plans and upcoming opportunities.

Requirements

  • Qualifications
    • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Civil/Structural), or graduate of an applicable technical diploma program, and/or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 15 years in an oil & gas construction project management or project supervision role or large-scale construction experience.
    • 5-8 years working experience in a managerial role with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
    • Availability to periodically travel to project sites.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Understanding of the oil and gas pipeline & industrial construction industry and familiarity with relevant construction and safety codes, standards, and practices.
