We are seeking an experienced Construction Survey Operations Manager to join our Critical Infrastructure team. In this role, you will oversee the delivery of construction layout and engineering survey services for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct topographic surveys, engineering surveys, and as-built surveys
  • Perform building and structural layout, and structural quality control surveys
  • Carry out earthwork surveys and earth volume and cut-fill management surveys
  • Collect field data using various survey instruments
  • Oversee QC of data collection, ensuring completeness of field notes and daily downloads
  • Assist with last-minute tasks and complete documentation
  • Take accurate and clear field notes and perform rapid calculations
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 8 years' experience in surveys
  • Experience with robotic total stations, Windows-based data collectors, GNSS technology, and other data collection technologies
  • Minimum 2 years' construction surveying experience
  • Knowledge of operating GPS equipment
  • MS Office software proficiency, with AutoCAD Civil 3D experience an asset
  • Completion of a 2-year minimum college program in geomatics technology or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting conventional and GPS survey equipment
  • Ability to work with static control surveys, high-precision layout work, and 1st order leveling techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and follow-up abilities
  • Problem-solving skills and commitment to environmental health and safety
  • Willingness to mentor and train colleagues
