Job Purpose

The HSE Advisor provides health and safety support to the field operations teams. This support will aid and lead in the ongoing development of a front-line based safety program. This individual will lead the training, auditing and coaching of facility leadership staff regarding the requirements and responsibilities of SECURE ENERGY's safety program.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide support to the field in following SECURE ENERGY's Life Saving Rules and HSEMS
  2. Maintain a high level of in-person field support (50% of time at a minimum)
  3. Support core systems including iTrak, work permitting/hazard assessment, job hazard assessment/TRAC, visitor orientations, safety tickets, emergency response plan, facility inspections/communication, safety manual and COR audit
  4. Develop and maintain components of the HSEMS as requested
  5. Ensure communication and consistency is maintained through active engagement in safety meetings, area calls, and general safety communications
  6. Continually progress personal development, specifically maintaining up-to-date safety tickets and related training
  7. Provide additional support as required
Requirements
  1. A minimum of 3 - 5 years direct experience in industry related operations
  2. A High School Diploma
  3. OHS Certificate, CRSP or NCSO designation
  4. Working knowledge of safety management systems and safe work practices
  5. Practical knowledge and experience in training and coaching staff
  6. A broad understanding of the HSE regulatory process and principles
  7. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work well under pressure
  8. Strong ability to build working relationships and contacts within the organization as well as with external regulators, vendors, and contractors
  9. High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  10. Hands-on experience performing operating tasks within facilities is considered a strong asset
  11. Preference will be given to candidates who live and maintain a permanent residence within the area where the operational facilities are located
