Director, Finance and Risk Management

As a key member of the Finance Professionals Inc. team, you will play a critical role in supporting multiple business segments, including Finance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, and more. You will lead a team in the Financial Control function, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and providing accounting interpretation and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Establish Governance Framework: Develop and implement a control and governance framework, including monthly GL reconciliation review and attestation, process map implementation, and resolution of outstanding issues.
  2. Lead Month-End Close Process: Ensure complete financial reporting and timely submission of month-end templates to the Head Office.
  3. Manage Global Attestation and Reconciliation: Oversee the monthly global attestation and reconciliation process for the Platform, ensuring compliance with Enterprise standards.
  4. Provide Strategic Direction: Offer oversight and strategic direction for the control environment in the Platform, ensuring compliance with SOX and other audit requirements.
  5. Coordinate External Reporting: Work with various groups to ensure accurate external reporting, including MD&A, B/S, P&L, Note disclosures, regulatory reporting, and supplemental formats.
  6. Review Accounting Policy Issues: Liaise with the Accounting Policy Group to determine appropriate accounting treatments.
  7. Lead Special Projects: Manage special projects as assigned by the Senior Director, Corporate Support Financial Control.
  8. Team Management: Effectively manage and develop a team of finance professionals to foster a high-performance culture.

Requirements: 5+ years of experience in a Financial Control position, strong management capabilities, and a strong understanding of financial governance and risk management principles.
