Respiratory Therapist Student

Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Student to join their team. As an Employed Student Respiratory Therapist, you will work under the direction of a Practice Lead, Educator, or Supervising Respiratory Therapist, providing direct Respiratory Therapy care to patients commensurate with your level of education and training.
Responsibilities
- Operate in accordance with the unit/program philosophy, organizational principles, and Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) Standards for Respiratory practices.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care while maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in Respiratory Therapy.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in an accredited and recognized Respiratory Therapy Program and currently completing a clinical placement.
- Certification in Basic Life Support or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to organize assigned workload and set priorities.
- Ability to think critically and problem solve.
