Job Title: Employed Student Respiratory Therapist
Job Summary:
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Student to join their team. As an Employed Student Respiratory Therapist, you will work under the direction of a Practice Lead, Educator, or Supervising Respiratory Therapist, providing direct Respiratory Therapy care to patients commensurate with your level of education and training.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct Respiratory Therapy care to patients, working under the direction of a Practice Lead, Educator, or Supervising Respiratory Therapist.
- Operate in accordance with the unit/program philosophy, organizational principles, competency guidelines, and Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) Standards for Respiratory practices.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Enrollment in an accredited and recognized Respiratory Therapy Program and currently completing a clinical placement.
- Certification in Basic Life Support or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to organize assigned workload and set priorities.
- Ability to think critically and problem solve.
- Ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
