Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Student to join our team. As an Employed Student Respiratory Therapist, you will work under the direction of a Practice Lead, Educator, or Supervising Respiratory Therapist, providing direct Respiratory Therapy care to patients commensurate with your level of education and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct Respiratory Therapy care to patients, working under the direction of a Practice Lead, Educator, or Supervising Respiratory Therapist.
  • Operate in accordance with the unit/program philosophy, organizational principles, competency guidelines, and Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) Standards for Respiratory practices.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Enrollment in an accredited and recognized Respiratory Therapy Program and currently completing a clinical placement.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize assigned workload and set priorities.
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts.
