Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Class 1 Truck Driver to join our team at D & W Logistics Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across long distances, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a high level of professionalism in customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection, and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance and receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
Requirements
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Attention to detail, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, sitting, and up to 23 kg (50 lbs) weight handling
  • Efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, judgement, organized, reliability, team player, and hardworking
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction. The role will involve working independently and as part of a team, with regular communication with central dispatch.
