We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Community Residential Worker in Kentville, Nova Scotia.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting individuals with mental health and disability needs.
As a Community Residential Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our participants, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our program coordinators and staff team to develop and implement personalized care plans.
You will maintain confidentiality and adhere to our organization's standards of practice.
A key aspect of this role is maintaining a clean and safe living environment, planning and preparing nutritious meals, and engaging participants in community activities.
We require our casual staff to commit to a minimum of 6 shifts per month, including weekends and holidays, and be available for last-minute coverage as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining participant confidentiality and adhering to organizational standards
- Collaborating with the program coordinators and staff team to plan, implement, and evaluate care plans
- Documenting participant information according to charting guidelines
- Attending community events with participants, promoting the use of public transportation
- Maintaining a clean and safe living environment, performing household cleaning tasks
- Preparing meals according to menu plans and related policies
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach. You will also have a strong commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for our participants.
This casual position offers a competitive hourly rate of $16.49-$17.70, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
