Job Title: Lead Garage Door Technician



About the Role:



We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Garage Door Technician to join our team at Overhead Door Corporation. As a key member of our Field Operations team, you will be responsible for servicing and installing overhead doors, ensuring the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Install and service various types of overhead doors, including sectional, rolling steel, fire doors, high speed doors, security grilles, and roll shutters.
  • Diagnose problems, provide solutions, and carry out required work on overhead doors.
  • Regularly communicate and coordinate with the scheduler to ensure efficient problem-solving and timely completion of tasks.
  • Welding for installation or repair, as required.
  • Assess job scope at the beginning of each job, noting any discrepancies to the scheduler.
  • Perform out-of-town travel for installation and service work, as needed.
  • Provide estimates for person-hours required for service calls and costs for repairs versus replacement.
  • Meet physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 75 pounds, working in various weather conditions, and managing equipment and tools.
  • Complete all required paperwork daily and submit it on time, including timesheets, FHLAs, and job workorders.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for service, as needed.
  • Pass pre-employment screening requirements, including drug, alcohol, and health assessments.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and safely transport products on trailers and manlifts.
  • Maintain a strong safety mindset and ensure daily attendance and punctuality.
  • Update safety training and tickets as required, communicating with the scheduler.
  • Perform other duties or tasks within the operations department, as assigned.


Qualifications:




  • Experience in the service/installation industry or related trades.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • CDI Certification is an asset but not required.
  • Relevant safety training and tickets are an asset.
  • Experience servicing/installing overhead doors is preferred.
  • Ability to wear a hard hat and PPE.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements.
