Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Garage Door Technician to join our team at Overhead Door Corporation. As a Lead Technician, you will be responsible for installing and servicing overhead doors, as well as leading a team of technicians to ensure excellent customer service and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and service overhead doors, including sectional, rolling steel, fire doors, high-speed doors, security grilles, roll shutters, and bifold doors
  • Diagnose problems, provide solutions, and carry out required work on overhead doors
  • Communicate and coordinate with the scheduler on problem-solving, provide solutions, and required parts if needed
  • Welding for installation or repair if required
  • Assess job scope at the beginning of each job and note any discrepancies to the scheduler immediately
  • Travel to out-of-town locations for installation and service work
  • Provide estimates for how many person-hours are required for a service call and the cost to fix versus replace doors
  • Lift at least 75 pounds or more depending on job scope
  • Work outside in all different weather conditions, including cold and extreme heat
  • Complete all required paperwork daily and submit it on time at the end of each workday
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for service
  • Pass pre-employment screening requirements, including drug, alcohol, and health assessments
  • Hold a valid driver's license and transport product on trailers and manlifts safely
  • Maintain a strong safety mindset and adhere to safety protocols
  • Attend work daily and be punctual
  • Ensure safety training and tickets are up to date and valid

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a service/installation industry
  • Experience in related trades or construction
  • Valid driver's license
  • CDI Certification is an asset but not a requirement
  • Relevant safety training and tickets are an asset
  • Experience servicing/installing overhead doors is strongly preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work outside in all different weather conditions
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements
