Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Analytics Specialist to join our team in Model Risk Management. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting audits to assess the design and operating effectiveness of model risk management and controls. Your primary goal will be to ensure business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion a customer-focused culture within your team, deepening client relationships and leveraging broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Execute assigned audit activities independently or as part of a team, under the direction of the Officer in Charge (OIC). This includes a thorough understanding of the business/unit/process and associated risks, completion of audit procedures and testing, discussions with management and documentation of work performed.
  • Deliver end-to-end audit execution processes within scheduled timelines, ensuring the nature and extent of testing is appropriate to support the objective, scope and overall opinion.
  • Ensure audit findings and results are gathered and timely communicated with identified root cause, associated impact, audit recommendations and management actions that address the root cause.
  • Manage self-development by confirming job expectations, identifying mentors/coaches and enquiring about training needs, ensuring timely completion of performance appraisals and managing assigned staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong educational background in a STEM area, such as Math, Statistics, Economics or Business. You must have at least 1+ years of relevant experience in Data Analytics, Advanced Analytics, Predictive Modelling and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Additionally, you should have experience in Credit and Fraud Risk Management, including risk strategy and model development.

You should also possess a strong understanding of retail and Business Banking Credit Risk AIRB parameters (PD, LGD, EAD), Stress Testing (Loss, PPNR), IFRS 9/CECL and Scorecards, AML and Fraud Detection Models. Strong data analysis and modelling skills, as well as proficiency in tools like SQL, SAS, R and Python, are essential. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are also required to work with staff and management at various levels.

Estimated Salary: $85,000-$110,000 per annum
