About the Role

Viesca Residence is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Home Care Assistant to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support in the comfort of their own homes.

Job Description
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
Work Setting

You will work closely with patients in their own homes, providing personal care and support. Optional accommodation may be available at no charge on a live-in basis, but this is not a condition of employment.

Responsibilities
  • Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities to promote social interaction and physical well-being.
  • Perform various duties related to patient care and comfort, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Take patients' blood pressure, temperature, and pulse as needed.
  • Serve meal trays and assist with feeding patients who require assistance.
  • Maintain patients' rooms by making beds and ensuring a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Supervise patients' exercise routines to promote physical health and well-being.
  • Administer first aid in emergency situations, prioritizing patient safety and health.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and crouching. You must be able to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and possess excellent attention to detail.
