Job Description
As a Home Care Physiotherapy Assistant with Spectrum Health Care, you will play a vital role in supporting clients in Downtown, East, and West Toronto regions. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating individual programs in conjunction with the Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Providing therapy sessions as instructed, including balancing and strengthening exercises for seniors at risk of falling.
- Attending client/patient-related meetings to report on assessment findings and discuss plans for interventions.
- Implementing treatment plans based on assessment, client/patient input, and in conjunction with the client/patient's integrated care plan.
- Maintaining accurate and complete clinical records on client/patients according to established procedure and ensuring the confidentiality of these records.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A Certificate or Diploma in the Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapy Assistant Program from a recognized community college program or school registered with the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in the use of technology (MS Office, proprietary software).
- A valid G driver's license, third-party insurance coverage, and a reliable vehicle.
