About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Sedgman Pty Limited in Vancouver. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality structural designs and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement structural steel and concrete design models, including 3D modeling and detailed drawings, under the direction of engineers or supervising design drafters.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of designs, adhering to CSA/International and Sedgman code standards.
  • Support the continuous improvement of design systems and investigate new drafting techniques and equipment to enhance standard practices.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance on drafting difficulties or government compliance requirements.
  • Monitor project time and cost KPIs, ensuring effective design management, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Requirements
  • Technical design degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in design, consultancy, or operational environments.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software, such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, Advanced Steel/Prosteel, or similar packages.
  • Metals and heavy industry experience is highly advantageous.
  • Shop detailing experience is highly advantageous.

Salary range in BC: $65,000-85,000. The salary offered will consider education, experience, relevant skills, and capability, geographic location, and market conditions at the time of hire.
