Job Opportunity
Arcadis is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to contribute to the success of our Building Structural Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for structural design on various projects, including buildings and subway stations in western Canada. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safety and integrity of these structures.

This role is part of our global business area Places, where we work with clients worldwide to create, support, and enhance smart, safe, and sustainable places. Our team is dedicated to designing and managing spaces that meet the needs of people and communities.

As a Structural Engineer with Arcadis, you will have the opportunity to work on iconic and groundbreaking projects that transform the world around us. Your contributions will be instrumental in making journeys easier and opening up public places that bring people together.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead structural design teams to achieve project success.
  2. Coordinate structural design and construction with other disciplines.
  3. Collaborate with external stakeholders and clients.
  4. Conduct structural modeling, analysis, and design.
  5. Prepare and review structural reports and drawings.
  6. Review construction submittals.
  7. Identify structural deficiencies and provide remedial options.
  8. Review constructability, staging drawings, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
  9. Work with construction teams to discuss best solutions.
  10. Attend meetings with clients and stakeholders as needed.
  11. Coordinate engineering and commercial issues with the construction team.
Requirements:
  • Minimum University Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Registration with EGBC as a P.Eng, SE designation preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in structural design projects, including buildings and underground structures.
  • Design experience with complex building and underground projects.
  • Past experience working on underground and/or surface rapid transit projects (subway, LRT) is an asset.
  • Proficient knowledge of building codes and standards.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong design and construction support coordination skills.
  • Proficient in structural analysis software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Acrobat/Bluebeam.
  • Ability to work in a design environment and on-site, with occasional travel to project sites.
