Automation Systems Design Engineer

We are seeking an Automation Systems Design Engineer/Control Systems Expert to join our team at LK Automatics Incorporated for upcoming projects with a major automotive manufacturer in Oshawa.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement automation systems using PLC programs that meet customer software standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design control systems that adhere to project specifications.
- Review and correct hardware and software developed by suppliers according to customer design and build standards.
- Participate in project meetings to review project schedules, manpower, design status, and installation plans.
- Maintain and troubleshoot existing automation systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Analyze electrical schematics and diagrams to assist in system design and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical support during system installations, production, and upgrades.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the controls and automation industry.
- Proven skills in programming using Allen Bradley PLC and Siemens HMI.
- Familiarity with electrical hardware design principles and pneumatic control systems.
- Experience in project management from planning, hardware/software design review, BOM review, execution, installation, and commissioning.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with different engineering teams and suppliers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- GCCH & GCCS certificates are an asset.
Compensation Package
The compensation package includes a base salary of approximately $200,000+ including travel expenses and overtime pay for the right candidate. The position is full-time, contract, or permanent.
Work Environment
This role requires working on-site in person.
