About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Specialist to join our team on the Darlington New Nuclear Project. As part of this role, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and executing temporary work structures. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilize your skills and experience in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project teams to understand their needs and develop concept designs for temporary structures;
  • Create detailed technical drawings and schematics, working closely with external engineers and internal stakeholders;
  • Design and finalize shop fabrication drawings, including custom fabrication and design;
  • Material take-off and bill of materials generation;
  • Conduct quality checks on completed work to identify errors or discrepancies;
  • Support projects throughout the fabrication process and temporary steel structure installation;
  • Design and plan structural steel requirements for working platforms, access scaffolding, and other construction elements;
  • Provide status and progress reports to customers, project teams, and management;
  • Interface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, and other contractors;
  • Ensure project execution adheres to QA Programs and project quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering or a related field;
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certification required;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in structural design and detailing, preferably in temporary structures;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
  • Able to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong service-oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively within a large team.
