General Motors of Canada is seeking an experienced Mechatronic Systems Integration Specialist to join its team.

Job Description

This role plays a crucial part in the development of realistic automotive mechatronic simulation environments, enabling faster development cycles for GM EV and PHEV vehicles and propulsion thermal management systems.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • • Integrating dynamic simulation models with real ECUs and vehicle thermal hardware based on closed-loop simulation requirements.
  • • Designing, developing, and integrating serial data communication models (CAN, LIN, and Ethernet) based on simulation architecture.
  • • Collaborating with test apparatus users, HIL model development engineers, ECU software development engineers, and hardware design-release engineers to understand requirements and conduct end-to-end root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
  • • Troubleshooting HIL bench issues related to CAN, Ethernet, and LIN protocols.
  • • Automating simple repetitive tasks using Python or other programming languages.
  • • Improving robustness and usability of the HIL benches.
  • • Writing internal documentation for new HIL benches and existing simulation tools and assets.
  • • Planning, communicating, and coordinating HIL model rollout to support application and features as requested by bench users.
  • • Ensuring deliverables meet milestones with excellence.
  • • Identifying and implementing areas of efficiency in processes and products when scaling up.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications:
  • • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
  • • 5+ years of experience working with dSPACE HIL bench platforms.
  • • 5+ years of experience working with Matlab/Simulink in real-time simulation platforms.
  • • Experience with automotive embedded control software integration, testing, and ETAS INCA software test tools.
  • • Familiarity with testing tools such as Lauterbach, VSpy, or CANoe.
  • • Knowledge of programming languages like Python, C/C++, or other scripting languages.
  • • Knowledge of Controls Theory & Modelling.
  • • Experience working with Scrum/Agile software development processes and tools.

The estimated salary range for this position is between $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
