At Aviva, we are looking for a talented National Property Claims Adjuster to join our Customer Response - Property team.

We offer a comprehensive training program for individuals with strong customer service experience who may not have a background in insurance. This role is perfect for those interested in a career in insurance or those already working in the industry seeking to take their career to the next level.

The successful candidate will work with premier property vendors to quantify claims and apply cost-saving guidelines without compromising customer service quality. They will be responsible for claim settlement via telephone, focusing on quality and customer satisfaction.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Supporting customer demand through a call-center environment
  • Investigating and negotiating property claims in accordance with Aviva's claim procedures and guidelines
  • Confirming coverage and compiling FNOL information for incoming claims
  • Data accuracy and issuance of payments to vendors, insureds, and experts
  • Reviewing and compiling facts, policy, and technical reports, analyzing estimates, and negotiating/settling claims accordingly
  • Effectively advising and counseling customers on claim status, providing prompt and exemplary customer service while keeping related parties informed of the claims status
  • Ensuring all correspondence is completed in a time-efficient/effective manner, including the creation of Critical Path, Proof of Loss, and reservation of rights letters, etc.
  • Recognizing questionable claims, subrogation, and risk opportunities
  • Reviewing case law to determine liability

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • 1-3 years of claims insurance experience or insurance call center/customer service experience in any industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support customer demand
  • Strong customer service background
  • Excellent computer skills and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bilingualism in English and French (a significant asset)
  • Knowledge of Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, and Punjabi (not required but an asset)
  • Licenses for claims adjusting in any provinces (not required but an asset)
