Registered Nurse in Student Health Services

Job Summary:
The University of Windsor is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse to join our Student Health Services team. As a Clinical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to students on an outpatient basis, facilitating an optimal level of wellness and ensuring a student-friendly, efficient medical office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to students on an outpatient basis, working in collaboration with physicians to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Conduct thorough assessments, identify health risks, and develop strategies to promote health and wellness.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to confidentiality and data protection policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices in nursing care.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognized University or combination of nursing diploma and additional courses/training.
- Certificate of Competence, Ontario College of Nurses.
- Three to Five years clinical nursing experience, preferably in a primary care setting.
- Valid, current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities with competing deadlines.
- Accuracy and attention to details.
- Excellent work ethics, professionalism, patience, collegiality, tact, and diplomacy, particularly in stressful situations.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as needed.
- Ability to maintain respect, empathy, courtesy, and flexibility.
- Computer skills: Electronic Medical Records, Word, Excel, email, internet searches, PowerPoint, etc.
- Proven willingness and aptitude for learning, including new software and programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in young adult health, including mental health is desirable.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. The rate of pay is Classification VI per Schedule A of the Collective Agreement.
