Job Summary:
The University of Windsor is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse to join its Student Health Services team. As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide high-quality nursing care to students on an outpatient basis, promoting their optimal level of wellness and ensuring a student-friendly medical office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to students, working collaboratively with physicians to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of students.
- Conduct thorough assessments, identify health risks, and provide education to students on healthy lifestyle choices.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to confidentiality and data protection policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognized University or combination of nursing diploma and additional courses/training.
- Certificate of Competence, Ontario College of Nurses.
- Three to Five years clinical nursing experience, preferably in a primary care setting.
- Valid, current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities with competing deadlines.
- Accuracy and attention to details.
- Excellent work ethics, professionalism, patience, collegiality, tact, and diplomacy, particularly in stressful situations.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as needed.
- Ability to maintain respect, empathy, courtesy, and flexibility.
- Computer skills: Electronic Medical Records, Word, Excel, email, internet searches, PowerPoint, etc.
- Proven willingness and aptitude for learning, including new software and programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in young adult health, including mental health is desirable.
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced medical office environment, interacting with students, faculty, and staff. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
