Job Title: Associate, Financial Management, Technology

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Management Associate to join our Technology & Data Strategy and Operating Office. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and analyzing Market Data & Subscriptions expense lines across CPP Investments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial planning and analysis, with experience in expense management and financial reporting. You will be accountable for leading and coordinating the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process, ensuring information accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and coordinate the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process for Market Data & Subscriptions across all departments, ensuring information accuracy.
  2. Conduct analysis around spend trends and variances, making abstract connections between information sources.
  3. Design and structure reports to provide clear illustrations of data and analysis, using charts, tables, and other visuals.
  4. Drive efficiencies in the expense reporting and analysis process, presenting spend reporting results to business management teams and/or executives.
  5. Address ad-hoc business requests to facilitate CPP Investments-wide discussions and analyses.
  6. Partner with the Data Scouting team to identify cost optimization opportunities for presentation to business partners.
  7. Collaborate with our external vendor Calero to support the management of the Market Data Management (MDM) solution from a dashboard and reporting perspective.
  8. Identify and develop processes that drive efficiency and effectiveness for the team.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business, or equivalent, with a professional accounting designation.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar financial planning & analysis role, with experience in Market Data preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear, succinct, organized, and convincing manner verbally and in writing.
  • Independent, resourceful, and able to work collaboratively with business stakeholders and T&D colleagues.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of accounting and budgeting concepts.
  • Intellectually curious, self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable to changing priorities and new challenges.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a high-performing culture, open to and comfortable with evolving changes and new challenges.
