Salary and Job Details

Estimated salary: CAD 80,000 - 110,000 per year (full-time). This role involves working as a Senior Financial Analyst and Planning Specialist, reporting to the Senior Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis. The primary location for this position is Ottawa, Ontario. The job requires full-time work, with the possibility of discussing hybrid arrangements according to departmental guidelines. CBC/Radio-Canada offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for growth and development. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-level support to Technology & Infrastructure (T&I) in areas such as planning, budgeting, reporting, and forecasting. Your key responsibilities will include conducting detailed and complex analysis, research, and financial information to support these activities.

Key Responsibilities 1. Monitor and complete financial analysis of the workforce and provide advice to T&I components on fiscal management. 2. Offer consistent support to facilitate T&I operations. Assist managers in managing resources according to CBC/Radio-Canada policies. 3. Implement management tools to enable managers to plan and manage their budgets effectively. 4. Complete reconciliations of data between financial systems necessary for analysis. 5. Maintain authority over funds and staff, providing guidance on accounting and financial management policies. 6. Analyze adherence to accounting policies and practices, identify deviations, and make recommendations for changes. 7. Conduct thorough reviews of financial reports and recommendations for improvements. 8. Provide expertise in all areas of financial reporting, accounting, IFRS, financial legislation, corporate policies, and government funding issues.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications: 1. University degree and professional accounting designation (CPA). 2. Minimum three years of experience in related fields of financial analysis. 3. Strong knowledge and experience in all areas of financial reporting and accounting, IFRS, financial legislation, corporate policies, and government funding issues. 4. Expertise in Excel, Google Sheets, SAP, and other software packages. 5. Superior English language skills (spoken and written), with good knowledge of French (spoken and written).
