About the Role

Morgan Construction and Environmental (Ltd.) is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team in Northern Ontario. As a key member of our heavy civil construction team, you will play a vital role in the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, to perform earth moving and grading tasks in a hard rock mining environment.
  • Load haul trucks with materials and equipment.
  • Build to design specifications, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist ground personnel as needed, demonstrating a willingness to support the team.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure efficient delivery of materials and services.
  • Champion our safety culture by adhering to Morgan's Safe Work Procedures and PPE policies.
  • Adhere to project specifications and guidelines to maintain quality standards.
  • Exercise exceptional judgment and problem-solving skills to overcome challenges.
  • Demonstrate versatility by collaborating effectively with team members and taking ownership of tasks.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience operating an excavator (336,349, 390, 470,670, 1250).
  • Experience as an excavator operator in the hard rock mining and/or heavy civil earthworks and mining industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise with technical specifications, grade plans, and building roads.
  • Worked on various ground conditions, including soft ground and hard rock.
  • Ability to finish or trim would be an asset.
  • GPS experience would be preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Must have (or be willing and able to obtain) CSO, Intermediate First Aid, and Ground Disturbance level 2.
  • Provide own steel-toed 6" lace-up boots (CSA Approved).
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs repetitively and safely.
  • As this is a safety-sensitive position, alcohol, drug, and fit-to-work assessment is a pre-employment requirement.
Working Conditions
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain, shine, or snow.
  • Expect to handle noise and vibrations on the job.
  • Must be able to work up to 12 hours a day.
  • Must be able to work day or night shifts.
  • Will work in remote areas, with accommodation provided.
  • Flights provided from designated travel hubs.
