Working under the supervision of the Health Services Manager, the OT collaborates with clients, caregivers, and family members to establish individualized treatment plans and goals. This position requires excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.

About You
  • Graduate of a recognized School of Occupational Therapy
  • Licensed with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia (COTNS)
  • Two years of relevant experience required
  • Maintain current certification in CPR
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)
  • Counselling skills required
  • Demonstrated experience conducting individual and group treatment
  • Ability to reach a joint formulation with the client and family
  • Familiarity with various psychotherapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution focused therapy, and/or motivational interviewing
  • Ability to demonstrate effective time management and disciplined self-organization
  • Awareness of local community resources and agencies would be an asset
  • Self-directed in practice with an ability to work independently and as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team while dealing with challenging clinical situations and crises
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Assessment of Motor and Process Skills (AMPS) certification an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting functional assessments and writing reports
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
  • Permanent, Part-Time; 30 Hours - Bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits

$42.89 hourly
