Procurement Specialist

About the Role
CPC Pumps International Inc., a part of the Atlas Copco Group, is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for selecting and developing vendors/suppliers based on quality, price, logistics, capacity, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure parts and components for production needs in accordance with production plan and forecast
- Develop a strong network of vendors who can deliver zero-defect parts and components at competitive prices
- Negotiate prices and terms with vendors and sign supply agreements when necessary
- Communicate relevant information to internal stakeholders and support them in their projects, budgets, and planning
- Consult with existing and potential suppliers to offer suggestions on improvements
- Create and drive solutions to improve on-time-delivery (OTD) and lead times
Requirements
- Enthusiastic and result-driven professional with a passion for procurement
- Team player who works with others to resolve problems quickly
- Well-organized and self-motivated
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- High energy and motivation levels and comfortable in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment
- Comfortable with ERP software
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to read blueprints is an asset
- Occasional travel to visit existing or potential suppliers may be required
Education and/or Experience
- 2 to 5 years of purchasing and materials control experience in a mechanical packages manufacturing environment
- Pumps and Compressors experience is an asset
- Understanding of metal casting processes (sand and investment) and materials (ASTM) is an asset
Work Environment
- Office environment involves sedentary work with repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where problems occur and volumes are heavy
