Job Summary

Kap Paper Inc is seeking a skilled Power Engineer 2nd to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our power plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine testing and maintenance on boilers and condensate systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Assist with the operation of gas boilers and adjust chemical feed rates to maintain residuals.
  • Conduct visual inspections of equipment under your care to identify potential issues and take corrective action.
  • Monitor and maintain softeners, caustic tanks, and other critical systems to ensure smooth operation.
  • Assist with lockouts, chemical unloading, and other tasks as assigned by the Shift Engineer.
  • Support the Chief Operating Engineer in upholding the TSSA Operating Engineers' Act and regulations.
Requirements
  • Minimum Ontario Third Class (TSSA) Power Engineering License or better.
  • Experience with boiler equipment and their auxiliaries is an asset.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Good level of maturity, interpersonal, and communication skills.
