Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Treatment Department at VCA Canada Alta Vista Animal Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our veterinarians and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Triage: Conduct thorough assessments of ill patients, triage their needs, and provide appropriate care and treatment.
  • Hourly Treatments: Administer medications, feed patients, assess pain and status, restrain patients, and lift patients up to 50kg.
  • Math Calculations and Client Updates: Perform accurate math calculations and provide timely updates to clients regarding their pets' care and treatment.
Additional Duties
  • Anesthetics, X-rays, and Laboratory Work: Assist with anesthetics, take X-rays, and perform laboratory work as needed.
  • Treatment Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized treatment area, including stocking and cleaning supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Veterinary Technician Diploma: Possess a diploma in veterinary technology from an accredited institution.
  • Language Proficiency: Be fluent in English (reading, writing, and oral communication).
  • Physical Abilities: Be able to support patients up to 50kg and lift up to 25kg.
