Based in Parksville, BC, we are seeking a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and completion of a pre-apprenticeship in commercial transport, heavy-duty, or automotive. A valid Class 7 or 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract is also required.
The Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring a wide range of Company vehicles and equipment are repaired and/or receive the specified maintenance in accordance with established standards.
A salary of approximately $60,000 - $80,000 per year is offered based on experience.
This full-time opportunity would be based in our yard in Parksville, BC and would report to the Equipment Manager.
We offer a positive work environment with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to acquire and record accurate information, as well as work in all weather conditions, is essential.
The successful candidate shall also possess thorough knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations, proficiency in using computer software and programs, and safety conscious behavior.
In this role, you will maintain knowledge and skills at a level which enables ongoing effectiveness in handling all aspects of the work, ensure co-workers, customers and members of the general public receive cooperation, service and respect at all times, and provide complete and timely records as required by Company policies and guidelines.
