We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Major Gifts Officer to join our Fund Development team at YMCA of Greater Vancouver. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in securing major gifts to support our organization's mission and programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive major gifts strategy to achieve fundraising goals
- Build and maintain relationships with major donors, including identifying, cultivating, and soliciting gifts
- Collaborate with program staff and other fund development team members to understand key program and capital projects requiring priority fundraising
- Develop and maintain a detailed campaign plan and calendar to achieve campaign goals
- Manage and adjust the work plan and calendar as needed to ensure successful campaign outcomes
- Research and identify potential donors, complete grant application submissions, and track results
- Develop and write proposals to secure grants from foundations
- Prepare customized solicitation strategies targeting organizational program objectives and donor interests
- University degree in a related field
- 5 years related experience
- Exceptional written, listening, and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of CRA regulations and laws in relation to donor and foundation compliance
- Proven team player with sensitively tuned interpersonal skills
- Provincial fundraising experience an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Internet, Google Mail, and Raiser's Edge
- Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines
