Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a tenure track position in Music Composition/Theory at the University of Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, conducting research, and contributing to the development of the School for the Arts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in composition, theory, and related subject areas
  • Conduct research and scholarly activities in music composition and theory
  • Develop and implement new undergraduate and graduate level courses
  • Provide leadership in the composition and theory areas, including recruitment and supervision of graduate students
  • Participate in ongoing research, scholarly, and artistic work (RSAW)
Qualifications
  • Doctorate (DMA or PhD) in composition or theory, or a related music field (ABD will be considered with expected completion prior to employment start date)
  • Master's in Composition with a significant and ongoing record of professional success in music composition at the international level
  • Post-secondary teaching experience is an asset
