Job Summary:

We are looking for a registered nurse with a strong foundation in nursing care and a desire to rotate through a specialty nursing unit(s) prior to or during post-graduate coursework. As a Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing patients, collecting information from various sources, and making nursing diagnoses. You will develop and implement care plans, collaborate with patients and families, and provide education on health and wellness. This role is ideal for nurses who are eager to learn and grow in a supportive environment.

About the Role:

  • You will assess patients and collect information from various sources, using observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment.
  • You will make nursing diagnoses and determine whether the patient's condition can be improved or resolved by an appropriate nursing intervention.
  • You will develop and implement care plans, collaborate with patients and families, and provide education on health and wellness.
  • You will participate in the care and discharge planning process, ensuring effective care plan implementation and evaluation.
  • You will coordinate nursing care, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities to support staff.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Completion of the applicable post-graduate specialty nursing course/program or willingness to complete the applicable post-graduate specialty nursing courses/program.
  • Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
