About the Role


CHEO, a globally recognized health institution dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to children, youth, and their families, seeks a skilled Cardiovascular Perfusion Specialist to join its team.


As a valued member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting urgent/emergent surgeries and ECMO initiation/discontinuation. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals to provide optimal patient care.


To succeed in this role, you must have a graduate degree from an accredited program in Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology and familiarity with key CV Surgery databases, including PC4 and STS.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Operate and monitor CHEO's perfusion equipment for cardiopulmonary bypass, ECMO, cell saver, and related point-of-care technologies.
  • Provide on-call coverage to support urgent/emergent surgeries and ECMO initiation/discontinuation.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals to provide optimal patient care.
  • Prepare and review patients' medical histories and notes to plan for surgeries.
  • Perform administrative duties, including equipment management, supply purchasing, and quality improvement initiatives.
