Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada PHSA Full time
Job Overview

The Nurse Practitioner role at Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) offers an exciting opportunity to lead clinical care outreach, planning, and supporting the adolescent and young adult population. This position will provide leadership and program development for transitional care planning and care transfer, partnering with Pain BC to support co-developed initiatives.

Responsibilities

This is a challenging and rewarding role that involves working as part of an interdisciplinary team to identify and assess trends and patterns that have implications for clients, families, and communities. You will develop and implement population-based strategies to improve health and participate in policy-making activities that influence health services and practices.

In this position, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of evidence-based care models, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and developing and evaluating policies and procedures related to nursing and interdisciplinary practice. Additionally, you will assign work to other nursing and healthcare personnel, supervise staff, and evaluate their performance if required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) and eligibility to complete the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) through the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM). A minimum of 4 years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience is also required.

As a leader in this field, you will be able to communicate effectively and build relationships with nurses and other healthcare professionals and disciplines using various communication strategies. Your ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices will enable you to introduce education and evidence-based research into practice areas. Furthermore, you will have the skill to recognize population health trends, plan, and implement strategies for population-based prevention and health promotion.
