Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Privacy Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our corporate privacy management program, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and internal privacy protection policies. The Privacy Analyst will work closely with the Chief Privacy Officer and Legal Counsel to investigate privacy breaches, conduct Privacy Impact Assessments, and provide training to internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and respond to privacy breaches and incidents, ensuring timely and effective mitigation measures.
- Conduct and review Privacy Impact Assessments for internal and external systems, programs, and initiatives.
- Provide privacy information and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Research and analyze ongoing privacy law compliance to provide advice and recommendations for policy development and PBC initiatives.
- Support the preparation of documents for various internal and external stakeholders, including reports for committees, management, and the Board of Directors.
- Deliver education and training on privacy to internal stakeholders.
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Completion of a Business Communications course or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in intermediate Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- 4 years of related experience researching and writing formal documents/reports, including 2 years of experience in a Privacy Analyst or equivalent position interpreting the British Columbia Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
- Demonstrated experience preparing reports to support policy analysis and decision-making for privacy.
- Demonstrated experience drafting PIAs for technological systems that adhere to the guidelines for private sector entities under privacy legislation.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. The successful candidate will be part of the CUPE 1816 Bargaining Unit and will receive wage increases in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
