Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Operations Director to oversee and manage our construction project activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the operations department, managing construction budgets and schedules, selecting and managing contractors, and ensuring compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Assume overall responsibility for the pre-development and execution of construction projects.
- Operational Performance: Maximize operational performance and drive the achievement of production and financial goals.
- Financial Management: Directly accountable for project P&L, client relations, and operation management.
- Policy Implementation: Implement corporate policies, procedures, and organizational structure for the operational department within the framework of the corporate policy.
- Goal Setting: Assist in the establishment, and ensure compliance, of operational units' short-term and long-term goals with overall corporate objectives.
- Project Support: Provide support to any number of projects from an operational, financial, and resource standpoint.
- Financial Accountability: Oversee project financial accountability and controls; ensure appropriate fiscal controls are in place.
- Dispute Resolution: Assist in dispute resolution for issues that require assistance outside of the project level.
- Operational Procedures: Coordinate and confer with professional staff to resolve operating problems and difficulties, and authorize department operational procedures within the corporate framework.
Leadership:
The Business Operations Director will exemplify leadership qualities by showing direction, support, and motivation of staff. They will lead, guide, direct, and ensure that project management teams optimize the execution of contractual work.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
- Experience: Project management experience, including all elements of scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, resources, and communications (5-10 years).
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with everyone involved in the project.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
- Quality Commitment: Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes, making necessary changes, using input to make improvements, and meeting/exceeding internal and external expectations.
