About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Biological Research Scientist to join our team at The Hospital for Sick Children. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting experiments in plant and animal growth, heredity, and breeding, as well as conducting molecular and biochemical studies and experiments in genetic expression, gene manipulation, and recombinant DNA technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise laboratory technical personnel, medical clinical personnel, graduate students, research scientists, and other professionals
  • Conduct research into the structure, function, ecology, biotechnology, and genetics of micro-organisms, including bacteria, fungi, protozoans, and algae
  • Prepare research papers, educational texts, and articles
  • Conduct literature reviews
Requirements
  • Doctorate degree in a relevant field
  • 5 years or more of experience in a research setting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong team player with excellent time management skills
