Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Nova Scotia Health Authority Full time

About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Health Psychologist (PhD) to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority's Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical health psychology background, with experience working with elderly populations. A one-year accredited clinical pre-doctoral internship is required, and registration or eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP) is also necessary.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing assessment, intervention, teaching, research, and consultative services within an interdisciplinary approach to clinical care. You will work collaboratively with our inter-professional team to address the psychosocial needs of veterans and residents living at Camp Hill Long Term Care, as well as provide support to their significant others.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team, while dealing with challenging clinical situations. Experience in clinical supervision of psychology trainees and training program development and evaluation would be an asset.

Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are considered an asset. Successful external applicants will be required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) to People Services before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment.

This is a long assignment, part-time position that requires 37.5 hours bi-weekly. The estimated salary for this position is $50.19 - $62.74 per hour, making it approximately $99,148.80 - $125,507.20 per year based on a 40-hour workweek. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
