The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist (PhD) to join its team of healthcare professionals in the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio.

About the Opportunity

The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, delivery, and evaluation of services as part of an interdisciplinary care team. This will include assessment, intervention, teaching, research, and consultative services. The primary focus of the service will be to address the psychosocial needs of residents living at Camp Hill Long Term Care, as well as to provide support to their significant others.

The Clinical Psychologist will work collaboratively with an inter-professional team to provide services that promote the physical and emotional well-being of residents. The successful candidate will be required to provide 1:1 assessment and intervention, assist with the development of interdisciplinary care plans, and provide consultation to other members of the Camp Hill health care team and other healthcare providers.

About You

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Clinical Psychologist with a strong clinical health psychology background and experience working with elderly populations. The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree from a recognized, accredited program in Clinical Psychology, a one-year accredited clinical pre-doctoral internship, and registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP). Familiarity with clinical health psychology assessment and intervention, as well as experience working with dementia and other diagnoses leading to placement in long-term care, is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will be self-directed in their practice, with the ability to work independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team. Experience in clinical supervision of psychology trainees and knowledge of clinical research and program evaluation would be an asset. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are also an asset.
