Overview

As a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN), you will play a vital role in the provision of person-centered care, promoting resident/client choices and individualized care plans. Your expertise will enable you to work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to identify current or potential care concerns and strengths, plan interventions, and evaluate outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care designed to meet the needs of residents/clients and their families, utilizing an outcome-oriented approach and reflecting evidence-informed practice.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan, organize, and prioritize care, ensuring continuity and consistency of care.
  • Communicate effectively with residents/clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, contributing to the development and revision of policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and collect data for research and evaluation purposes.
  • Contribute to the orientation and ongoing education of students and other team members, providing guidance and support as needed.

Requirements

  • Degree from an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
  • Current practicing registration as a RN/RPN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • One year's recent, related gerontological nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current Level 1 First Aid certificate.
